Mission, Vision, & Commitment

The aims of TETERI YA OROKO Cultural and Development Association UK are focused on sustaining, preserving, Promoting, and sharing the dynamic Cultural Heritage of the OROKO community. Additionally, our aim is to create a supportive and inclusive community for OROKO members in the UK – organising social gatherings, community events, and support networks that promote solidarity, resilience, and overall wellbeing. The Association also offers initiatives that address the specific challenges faced by members.

We provide Information, advice and support to families and individuals who are newcomers to the U.K. by creating a supportive environment where they can share their concerns, fears, or challenges. Newcomers often face various challenges when adapting to a new country. TETERI YA OROKO offers support to help them to foster connections in their integration process.

One of our commitments is to support our OROKO communities in Cameroon through development initiatives especially in rural communities where multiple challenges and vulnerabilities exist in areas such as healthcare, education, and other social issues. The focus of these initiatives is to reduce or eliminate poverty and lessen vulnerabilities in ways that can have significant positive impact on Women, Children, and the Elderly. In addition, TETERI YA OROKO encourages and supports the creation of a healthy biodiversity ecosystem in rural areas through planting local flowers, fruits and vegetables in school gardens, and communal village areas.
